Rules
A few simple rules apply and all annuity sales qualify except Single Premium Immediate Annuities ("SPIAs").
Credits
Producers receive credits in their PROFIT account for eligible production in accordance with the attached schedules. Credits can be redeemed for business development expenses only after the submission of supporting receipts or other documentation as requested by BHC Marketing
Extra Credits Certificate Redemption
Certificate for extra PROFIT credits must be redeemed with the final redemption request of the year. Extra Credits Certificates are valid once the full PROFIT qualification for the year has been met.
Entry Dates
Producers are automatically entered when they have one or more qualifying carrier contracts through BHC Marketing. Credits are computed based on calendar quarters and the year. Qualifying for PROFIT credits start anew each January 1. PROFIT credits earned this year but not redeemed by July 1 of next year will be lost.
Award Payment Dates
Credits awarded quarterly are available for redemption one month following the end of the quarter. The remaining PROFIT credits earned for the year are available no later than two months following year-end. The producer must be in good standing to receive awards on the payment date.
Closed Sales
Only closed, issued and paid eligible policies are included in determining the amount of awards, and only the commissionable premium is included. Sales with reduced override commission spreads to BHC will be normalized to customary spreads, resulting in the paid premiums from such sales being adjusted downward when computing PROFIT credits. If policies include bonuses, such bonuses are not counted as premium unless the amounts of such bonuses are commissionable. Each participant will receive periodic e-mail notification of their Quarterly and Year-to-Date PROFIT premium amounts.
Good Standing Requirements
Producers must be appointed with the eligible carrier or carriers with BHC Marketing on the redemption date, with no transfer request pending, approved by their broker-dealer to sell all fixed annuities through BHC, and with their insurance license in good standing with their state of residence. BHC Marketing, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to offset any indebtedness owed to it by a participating producer against any PROFIT credits earned in the Program.
Chargeback
If policies are cancelled, surrendered, or not taken, the associated premium is charged back against the period in which the policy was issued. If this occurs after the crediting date but before the redemption date, lost premiums are subtracted from the credited premium amount; and if after the payment date, the award is charged back to the producer or offset against future awards at the sole discretion of BHC Marketing.
Participating Carriers and Products
All fixed annuity sales of Sun Life, American Equity, Old Mutual Financial Network, ForeThought Insurance and ING are included in the Program. Single premium immediate annuities (SPIAs), long-term care insurance, and life insurance are excluded from the Program.
Adjustment of Premium Amounts
Premiums associated with low override commissions to BHC will be adjusted to a "normalized" spread which will result in less than the full premium amount being counted toward PROFIT credits. BHC reserves the right to make the determination of how much the premiums from such cases will count toward PROFIT credits. Total PROFIT premium amounts will be reported periodically and participants can inquire if they have questions or concerns.
Marketing Level Contracts
PROFIT is intended as an incentive for producing agents, not third-party marketing entities. Therefore, those holding marketing level contracts should inquire about eligibility.
Change in Rules or Discontinuation of the Program
Upon notification to participating producers, BHC Marketing reserves the right to change the rules and qualifications for the Program, or terminate the Program, at any time at its sole discretion. If BHC Marketing changes the rules or qualifications, or terminates the Program, such changes and/or termination takes effect upon the date of notification and all closed, issued and paid policies, and associated premiums, occurring prior to such changes or termination are governed by the rules and qualifications in effect prior to the changes.
Adding and Eliminating Carriers and Products
BHC Marketing, at its sole discretion, may add or delete a carrier and/or a product at any time. If a carrier or product is eliminated, all closed, issued, and paid policies and the associated premiums occurring prior to the termination date are counted toward awards as if the carrier had not been eliminated.
Disputes of Awards, Policies or Premiums
BHC Marketing reserves the right to settle all disputes arising pursuant to this Program at its sole discretion, and participating producers agree to abide by such dispute resolutions. The interpretation of any rule for participation, computation of PROFIT credits, and all other unspecified terms and conditions is determined by BHC Marketing, at its sole discretion, and is final.
